The easiest way to conduct an annual TAPA TSR self-assessment is to:
1. Make a copy of the TAPA TSR certification audit report to create the TSR self-assessment.
2. Change the auditor name and date.
3. Verify compliance of each requirement by looking at the evidence.
4. Update the comments written on the TAPA TSR self-assessment.
5. Identify and document opportunities for improvement.
6. Write the SCARs related to problems on the TAPA TSR self-assessment report.
7. Make all corrective actions necessary to eliminate the problems.
8. Update the TAPA TSR self-assessment report and document the corrective actions.
9. Complete the vehicle inspections for old and newly acquired vehicles.
10. Document the vehicle inspections on the applicable vehicle check sheets.
11. Update the master list of vehicles. Comment which vehicles are retired and which vehicles are new.
12. Send the annual TAPA TSR self-assessment report and updated master list of vehicles to your certification auditor.
Remember: Be sure to write accurate comments regarding what was inspected to verify compliance. If a work procedure, policy, form, etc. is required, document the name and location of the document. This technique will provide you immediate answers during the next TAPA TSR recertification audit.
