Example Risk Assessment

Sample Risk Assessment Sheet and Risk Assessment Matrix

TAPA FSR, TSR, and PSR certification requires the company to conduct an annual security risk assessment.

Each of the TAPA standards identify the specific risks that should be mentioned in the risk assessment.

In addition, the TAPA requirements also expect that local risks be identified and documented in the risk assessment.

As mentioned in another article, a security risk assessment is not difficult to construct. The most important aspect of the risk assessment is to understand which risks you have, the possibility of the risk event happening, and the impact on your company if the risk occurs.

Every person, every home, every company has indirectly conducted a risk assessment. The simple decision to lock a door is part of a risk assessment. We all know there is theft in the world. We all know that there is a possibility of it happening to each of us. And we all know that theft would have an impact on our sense of security, not to mention the loss of property.

In an effort to assist you in the preparation of a risk assessment, I prepared an excel sheet for you to use to document your risk assessment. I included the mandatory risks from the FSR. I also included some sample risks to which all companies are exposed. The idea is that you can download the sample risk assessment and update it to document your company’s risk assessment.

Remember, there are many opinions regarding how to document your risk assessment. If you use this risk assessment form, it is intended to be used with a risk assessment matrix to help quantify critical security issues.
